Overall slightly worn and scuffed - as shown). A rare find in any condition! Very good content (bright, tight and clean). Complete with the four beautiful full-page illustrations by Milo Winter.

Frances Jenkins Olcott (1872 - 29 March 1963) was the first head librarian of the children's department of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh in 1898. She also wrote many children's books and books for those in the profession of providing library service to children and youth.
Milo Winter (1888-1956) was an American illustrator of the Golden Age, who illustrated dozens of books throughout the 1910s, 20s and 30s and served as the art director of the Childcraft series. He was a master of animal drawings, which he could render anatomically accurate to the last detail.
